A concern for his hometown’s future has led Jonathan Davis to run for Palmetto Commission At Large 1. If elected, Davis says he will not only represent, but involve citizens in important city decision making.

In 1986, Davis obtained a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain’s License and has operated Captain JL Davis Charter Fishing ever since. He has actively been involved in the community through the North River Little League, Crosthwait Fishing Tournament and Manatee Gold Star Club, as well as many other local organizations.

Davis feels "commission workshops should encourage public input, in addition to allowing every citizen to be heard at commission meetings.“ By collaborating with the mayor and commission, he seeks "to prioritize expenditures and ensure that the CRA focuses on its core mission.“
