Attachment: Staff Report Attachment 15 - Copy of Newspaper Advertising Sarasota Herald Tribune.pdf – The Comp Plan Amendment set forth in Ordinance 16-07 describes the boundaries and zoning privileges defined within the Urban Core District. Some objections to those boundaries and the unintended consequences that might occur was at the center of arguments against the passing of the ordinance. – Recommended for Approval, 6-1, Bower dissent (Bower said he thought the project strategy should be tried in just one section of the county to see if it will work for Manatee County residents). Attachment: Copy of Newspaper Advertising - PA-16-03-Ordinance 16-23 - Comp Plan Amendment Countywide - Sarasota Herald Tribune - 6-9-16 PC.pdf – One major change proposed as part of this set of amendments is the gradual elimination of the Land Use Operative Provisions (LUOP) chapter. It is not a common practice in Florida to have such a document, and found that many of the provisions in that chapter are either in the Land Development Code (LDC), should be moved to the LDC, or moved to specific element Goals, Objectives and Policies.

This ordinance is a companion ordinance to item #5, but needed a separate vote. – Recommended for Approval, 6-1, Bower dissenting.
