Marty Morlan

BRADENTON – Littlejohn, a national planning, engineering and environmental firm, announces the opening of its Tampa office and the expansion of its comprehensive engineering services to a second Florida locale. Already serving Orlando, Littlejohn has grown in just 25 years from a sole Nashville-based proprietorship to a nationwide firm with nine offices in Tennessee, Arizona and Alabama as well as Florida.

Senior Project Manager, Marty Morlan, PE, will lead Littlejohn’s Tampa office. With more than 25 years of experience in the engineering field, Morlan joins Littlejohn from CAPTEC Engineering. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with the Pinellas County Public Works Department where he directed local city and county government projects. Morlan also has honed his expertise by working on significant projects for the Florida Department of Transportation Districts 1 and 7, and completing projects within the City of Tampa and in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Sarasota, Manatee and Pasco Counties.

”From our office in Orlando, we have experienced exciting growth and energy in Tampa, and we are excited to become an even bigger part of it from the close proximity of our new downtown Tampa location,“ said Jim Littlejohn, President. ”We are confident in our ability to make the most of opportunities already being presented to us in Tampa with Marty leading the office. Not only does he have a rare depth of expertise in engineering and transportation services, but he’s a longtime Tampa-area resident. We are thrilled that he’s joined our team.“

Littlejohn’s Tampa and Orlando offices specialize in five primary services: civil engineering, land planning / landscape architecture, community planning, economic development/redevelopment, and transportation/traffic planning and engineering.

”Opening an office in Tampa makes so much sense given the number of projects we have either completed or have underway in the region,“ said Leonard Arnold, Principal and Florida Regional Manager. ”Littlejohn is a smart, accomplished firm that seeks challenges for its talented professionals – and the Orlando/Tampa area is unquestionably growing and presenting these opportunities.“

Tampa-based projects Littlejohn has completed are: the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, the Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, the Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, and the South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center. Projects underway are: Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, the Largo Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) in Clearwater and the Citrus Park FSED in Citrus Park.
