BRADENTON – In a special exhibit, the works of Elisabeth Stevens will be featured at State College of Florida's Neel Performing Arts Center from October 16 to December 9. "Phantasmagorical: The World of Elisabeth Stevens and Selections from the Collections of the State College of Florida“ will display varied graphic art works and literature from the Sarasota artist and writer.

Having graduated from Wellesley College and with a Masters in Modern Literature from Columbia University, Stevens has studied at The Institute of Fine Arts of NYU, and The Princeton New Jersey Art Association. She is a former art critic for The Baltimore Sun, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The Trenton Times, and a graduate of Wellesley College, and now works as an artist in various mediums as well as a fiction writer and poet.

Among the standalone pieces of art to be exhibited are black ink and hand-colored etchings, printed art such as linocuts, and works using the traditional silverpoint technique.

Stevens has also worked illustrations into her written work. The exhibit will include her three boxed limited edition books - Eranos, Sirens' Songs, and The Sufferers, which separately contain horror literature, erotic poems and erotic etchings.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be October 16. State College of Florida is located at 5840 26th Street in Bradenton. More information on "Phantasmagorical" can be given by calling gallery manager Joe Loccisano at 941-752-5225.
