Palmetto's Got Talent to Feature County's Emerging Young Stars

PALMETTO – On the evening of Friday, January 29, in Sutton Park, Drug Free Manatee will present an event to showcase Manatee County's up and coming young talents.

The emerging stars to be featured in Palmetto's Got Talent will have a chance to win prizes totaling $2,000, with first prize being a Del Couch Music Education Foundation talent contract, and a $500 gift card for supplies needed to support the winner's growth in their specialty. Gift cards will also be distributed to second and third place winners, with runners up receiving acknowledgments.

Free to enter, the contest is open to students enrolled in a high school or middle school in Manatee County.

During the event, established talents such as singer Manatee native Matt Walden, and comedian and Cleveland's Traci Kanaan, will provide entertainment for the audience in addition to the featured talent show performers. Kanaan will be introducing the talent show's acts.

Those interested in participating in the event can upload a talent video to Drug Free Manatee's Facebook page, or email a video to mfavorite@drugfreemanatee.org or abergmann@drugfreemanatee.org; the submission deadline is January 20.
