Bradenton, Florida - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol J. Chase, 74, of Bradenton, FL on March 2, 2024. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Erika Valcarcel (Chris), Katharine Poniatowski (Adam); her grandchildren, Isabelle, Noah, Chase and Ella; her brothers, Stephen Chase (Tracy) and Michael Chase; nieces, nephews, and all those that knew and loved her.
Carol was born on December 17, 1949 in Washington, DC. As the daughter of a military father, she traveled often, ultimately settling in Miami, FL where she graduated from Miami Palmetto High School. Upon graduation from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, she began her long career as an educator in Bradenton, FL. She spent 42 years as an elementary school art teacher and loved every second. After retiring, she spent her days volunteering as a Guardian Ad Litem, in the library and art room of her grandchildren's school, and fostering countless cats while they waited for forever homes. She had many loves in her life; her animals, baking, art, decorating for holidays and getting her hair and nails done. But, by far, her greatest love was her grandchildren, who adoringly called her "Gram."
The family will gather for a private Celebration of her Life. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
