Harold W. Higgins, 91, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023, at Tidewell Hospice. He was born on September 14, 1931, in Plainfield, NJ, the son of the late Howard and Jessie Higgins. Harold grew up in North Plainfield, NJ, where he graduated high school and following that became a successful welder. Later he and his brother partnered in a business of auto body repair and painting for many years.
He really enjoyed picnics and fishing trips with his family and friends throughout his life. His many travels took him and his family to wonderful sights in the United States. One of his favorite pastimes was collecting and listening to albums of all genres of music and he also was an avid country music fan. During retirement, he kept himself busy every day with projects including mechanical repairs to equipment and worked part time in his son's machine shop business.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Rosemarie (Bauer) and seven children: Patricia Grizaniuk, Barbara Benson, Robert Higgins, Alan Higgins, Bruce Higgins, Brian Higgins and Michael Higgins along with their spouses and seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers Robert and Lloyd Higgins.
Tidewell Hospice took great care of him before his passing. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
