Keith A. DeYoung, age 76, passed from this life to his eternal life on August 2, 2023. Keith was born on January 17, 1947, in Chicago Heights to Patronella (Ooms) DeYoung and William DeYoung. When Keith was 9, Patronella went home to be with the Lord and Keith was blessed being given another wonderful mother, Jean (Klooster) DeYoung.

He was a mason and owned DeYoung Construction in South Holland, IL. He did masonry and concrete work and owned DeYoung Development in Bradenton, FL. After retirement, Keith became a part-time Security Officer on Long Boat Key with a license to be armed.

Keith is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen (Gouwens); sons, Michael (Kimberly) and Jason DeYoung; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, John Boersma (Darlene); sister, Sherrie Parr (John) and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his mother, Patronella DeYoung; mother, Jean DeYoung; father, William DeYoung and sister, Myrna Fulton.

Keith was previously active in the Elks Lodge #1511 and served as an Exalted Ruler. Keith is also a Member of the American Legion Post. 24

Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Tuesday, August 8, 2023, with Viewing at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, followed by Christian Service at 11 AM at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street W. Bradenton, FL. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be 2 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL.
