Robert "Bob" Eugene Gero, 87 years old, passed away on October 6, 2023 in Palmetto, Florida.

Robert Eugene Gero was born in Cumberland, Maryland to Laura Mae Riggs Gero and Charles Albert Gero on October 21, 1936. He graduated from Fort Hill High School and was an Air Force Veteran. After his service in the Air Force, he was employed at Works Seven, PPG Industries and in 1975, he acquired ownership of the Galen Bar on South Mechanic Street in downtown Cumberland.

Robert Eugene Gero is preceded in death by his father, Charles Albert Gero in 1999; brother, Charles Fredrick Gero in 2002; and mother, Laura Mae Riggs Gero in 2011.

Robert Eugene Gero is survived by his daughter, Monica Beasley (John) of Beaufort, South Carolina; sister, Shirley Jane Gero of Cumberland, Maryland; sister-in-law, Annette "Skip" Gero of Englewood, Florida; nieces, Tami Dolan (Bradley) of Cumberland, Maryland and Denise Raynor; nephew, Terry Gero (Debbie) of Englewood, Florida; grandchildren, Jonathan "Ryan" Beasley of Chesterfield, Virginia, Ashley Nicole Beasley of Horseheads, New York and Jessica Beasley Reitz (Kevin) of Beaufort, South Carolina; great grandchildren, Cayden, Kayleigh, Everett, Cameron and Trynton.

The family of Robert Eugene Gero would like to personally thank Diane Brinker Reisinger for her friendship, kindness and selflessness during Bob's time in Florida. It was Diane and her husband, Duke, that took Bob in after his time in the hospital and made sure he had everything he needed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
