Posted

BRADENTON — On Monday, a ruptured sewer line caused the shutdown of a portion of Ninth Street West in downtown Bradenton at approximately noon. It remained closed until around 6:30 p.m.

The city reported that an FDOT contractor damaged the line while performing construction work. The closure occurred between Manatee Avenue and Sixth Avenue.

On Tuesday, the City of Bradenton's Facebook page noted that drivers should expect slowdowns and interruptions starting at 9:00 a.m. as the city and its contractor complete the utility repairs at the intersection of 9th St W and 6th Ave W. Work was expected to be completed by 1:00 p.m.
