Ruth "Grandma" Bowling, age 93, of Bradenton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 2, 2022.
Ruth Elizabeth Bowling was born on January 23, 1929, in Radford, Virginia to Thomas Paul and Beulah Mae Jones. She has a brother, John Jones (Richmond, VA) and Thomas Paul Jones, Jr., who preceded her in death. Ruth married Mack Marion Bowling on June 16, 1946. Two children were born of their marriage, Joyce Anne Ellis (Skip) and Bob Bowling (Elaine). Ruth was blessed with three grandsons who she loved and cared for from the bottom of her heart. Rob (Mandy), Casey (Brenda), and Matt (Kelly) benefited not only from the food Grandma made but her unconditional love. From her grandsons and their wives, she was given six great-grandchildren, AnnaBelle, Lily, Brooklyn, Braden, Easton and Charlotte. Also she had many nieces and nephews. Faith and family were very important to Ruth whether tending to others’ needs or fixing a coconut crme pie or oatmeal cookies.
Her mission was being a true servant to others. Ruth was a long-time member of West Bradenton Baptist Church where she served faithfully in many ministries. Ruth’s giving spirit will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held 10-11 AM with Services to follow at 11 AM, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at West Bradenton Baptist Church, Pastor Sam Rainer and Brother Bob Allen will be officiating. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
