Word has been received that Verna Overly Gum age 80 of Ellenton, FL and formerly of Mt Pleasant, PA went to be with The Lord on 4/16/2024.
Verna was born in Mt Pleasant, the daughter of Emma F and Walter B Overly. She was one of ten children. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and is survived by her sister Tina and brothers Jim, Delmar and Jay.
Verna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Everett Gum who passed in February, 2001 and grandson Levi Komarinski in November, 2011.
Verna is survived by her daughter Tammy Cichowski and husband Don of Parrish, FL. A son Everett Gum Jr and wife Melissa of Indiana, PA. Grandchildren are John Komarinski and wife Anna, Jenny Wilson and husband Mike of Florida. Grandchildren Taylee Wilson, Presley Jo Grove and husband Mike and Justice Gum of Pennsylvania.
Verna and Everett were members of the Bullskin Township Fairboard, working during the fair and with the Bullskin 4-H Saddle Club of which they were leaders.
Verna spent over 50 years as a dealer in Antiques and Collectibles selling through the Ligonier Fleatique, The Laughlintown Antique Mall and the former Antique Co-op in New Stanton, PA.
In lieu of gifts/flowers we ask that donations in Verna's name be made to Tidewell Hospice.
