Barbara Auld Knierim, 87, of Lakewood Ranch, passed away peacefully, on September 14, 2022, at the Lakewood Ranch Hospice House.

Born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Henry (Mary Bella) Eberts; she is survived by her husband of 64 plus years, Tom G. Knierim; sons, Tom George (Lorene) of Scotch Plains, NJ, Christopher (Angie) of Coto De Caza, CA and Glenn of Littleton, CO; her only daughter, Marybeth (Brad) Goodwin of Cape Cod, MA; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, Samantha, Brian, Jaclyn Barbara, Kacy Grace and Carter James and one great-grandchild, Arista.

She moved to Mountainside, NJ in May of 1962 and lived there for 38 years before moving to Lakewood Ranch, FL. Retired from American Airlines and she enjoyed traveling, dancing, baking and Mah Jongg. She volunteered for 35 years as a Republican District Committeewoman in Mountainside, NJ. In Mountainside Barbara was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Mountainside Church for 38 years and sang in the choirs for 30 years with her husband Tom (A Presbyterian ) who sang with her for several years, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Mountainside Church Council for many years. A member of Our Lady of Angels R.C. Church she served as a Eucharistic Minister for 27 years in NJ and FL, an absolute privilege and favorite ministry. Barbara also served as Eucharistic Minister at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ a 600-bed hospital. Her favorite work was in the oncology department. She was on the Social Justice and Welcome Committees at Our Lady of Angels and Volunteered at the Women’s Exchange in Sarasota and member of Lakewood Ranch Women’s Club since coming to Florida in 2000.

A memorial mass will be held in the near future. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th St Chapel, 5624 26th St W. Bradenton, FL 34207 is in charge of arrangements.
