It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Bronis J. "Bunny" Aleksinas, 74 on June 7, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bronis was born on May 19, 1948 in Waterbury, CT to the late Bronis A. and Hedwig (Lubinski) Aleksinas. He was the eldest of 6 children. He very proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Papa Bunny was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, kindness and the ability to make you laugh. His smile would light up the room. He enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, reading his daily devotional and spending time with his family.

Papa Bunny is survived by his children, Jessica (Michael) VanBuskirk, Benjamin Aleksinas, Danielle and Autumn Skwiot; his grandchildren, Madison and Mikayla Shedrawy, Mia and Joy VanBuskirk and Arianiee Aleksinas; his siblings, Theresa (Michael) Carr, Sandra (Bob) Houlihan, Carol Lokites and Edward Aleksinas; and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Papa Bunny was predeceased by his parents, his beloved daughter Julieanna Shedrawy, his sister Cecilia Forget and his niece Heather Lokites.

The unconditional love he gave and the memories they created will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be missed tremendously and we will all cherish the memories.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 14 at 11 am at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. An additional Celebration of Life will be held in his home state, Connecticut, at a future date.
