Gloria Arrington-King, 74, of Bradenton, Florida passed away on June 9, 2022.

She was born on November 11, 1947, to the Union of Albert and Louise Arrington in Laurel, Mississippi. Gloria moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1966 where she raised her family. She relocated her family to Bradenton, Florida in 1984 and resided until she retired as a Manatee County School Board employee.

Gloria returned to Lake Charles, Louisiana upon her retirement to enjoy her favorite hobbies of fishing on the bayou, cooking, baking, and spreading love, cheer and comfort to the sick, shut-ins and to those in need.

Gloria accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was a devoted member of Mill Street Church of Christ in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Gloria departed this earth with grace and at peace in Bradenton, Florida on Thursday, June 9, 2022, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memory and legacy; four daughters Vixian (Clayton) Powell, Katanga (Walter) Papillion-Perkins, Dondra (Dwight) Hammonds all of Bradenton, Florida and Gromyko (David) Scott of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; two sons Nikita (Vickie) Arrington and Horatio (Michelle) Papillion of Bradenton, Florida; two sisters Lorreanna Arrington-Brown and Barbara Arrington-Nelson; Loyal Friend: Jane Gatschenberger; thirty grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Albert Arrington, mother Louise Arrington, brother Marvin Arrington, sister Georgia Arrington-Davis, son-in-law Trying Perkins and granddaughter Kimberly Scott.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, at 4:00 PM, at the Faith Temple COGIC, 1803 18th St Ct E., Palmetto, FL 34221.
