Rev. Roy E. Bruce

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Rev. Roy E. Bruce, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather who went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2022.

He was born onFebruary 7, 1928, and passed away at the age of 94.

Roy is predeceased by his wife of 59 years in 2008 Elaine (Marin), Son David, and grandson Andrew.

He is survived by daughters Linda (Boyd), Holly (George) and sons Peter (Audrey), and Jonathan (Joy), 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and fiancŽ Maureen Stark.

Roy lived an exemplary, God-fearing life and was a great example and teacher. He has positively impacted many lives.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing and teaching the saxophone and sharing his talents and love of the Lord.

After graduating from seminary his first church was in Eastport, Maine where 4 of his 5 children were born. After 10 years the family moved to Brookville Ma. where he was the preacher at Brookville Baptist church for another 10 years. The family welcomed Jonathan in 1963 before moving to Bradenton, Fl. Roy was the pastor of Cortez Rd. Baptist Church from 1971-1980. At age 80 he returned to Cortez Rd. Baptist as pastor 2008-2013.

He resided at Freedom Village in Bradenton, Fl. For the last 15 years.

He will be dearly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Harbor Life Church, 3321 63rd Ave. E. Bradenton, Fl. at 4:00 p.m.
