Ronald J. Weyer

Chief Master Sergeant Ronald J. Weyer, USAF, retired, 82, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on April 28, 2022.

Ron was born on October 6, 1939, in Evansville, Indiana, to William W. Weyer and Martha L. Weyer(Mayhugh).

Ron was a graduate of Manatee High, Class of 1957; NCO Academy, Norton AF Base, CA; Sr. NCO Academy, Gunter AFB, AL; and he continued his education throughout his military career.

He served numerous AF bases around the world as a civil engineer and was a recipient of the following Outstanding Awards: Sr. NCO of the year 1969- Norton AFB, CA; Best Snow & Ice Control in the USAF 1980, Ô81, and Ô82; SAC Civil Engineer Manager of the Year 1981 - Fairfield AFB, WA; AF Systems Command Civil Engineer Sr. NCO of 1984- Edwards AFB, CA; and numerous other awards throughout his 29-year career.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents William and Martha Weyer and his niece Kerri L. Taylor. He is survived by his son Anthony M. Weyer, TX; sisters Karen D. Root, FL and Marilyn W. Collins, NC; nephews Brian G. Collins (Penny), GA, Stephen M. Collins, and William "Scott“ Collins (Carolyn), NC; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

He was a member and past Commander of VFW Post 10141 Palma Sola as well as a member of the Honor Guard. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bradenton. Ron enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and landscaping.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7th at 11 AM at Griffith-Cline Funeral And Cremation Services, 720 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, FL 34205. Interment will be held Monday, May 9th at 10 AM at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton.
