Small Plane Crashes in Myakka River

MYAKKA CITY — On Monday night, a small aircraft crash landed near the Myakka River. The Manatee Sheriff's Office reported that the pilot was able to escape the crash unharmed.

At approximately noon on Tuesday, deputies were informed that someone located a small aircraft upside down in the Myakka River near 30303 Clay Gully Rd. in Myakka City.  

Later that afternoon, deputies learned that the pilot crashed the aircraft the previous evening and was able to climb out. The investigation continues and no other details are available at this time.
