Posted
BRADENTON – The second coming of the Bradenton Area River Regatta is almost upon us, and with it comes a flurry of family-friendly entertainment and activities this weekend.

In addition to Saturday's boat race, other thrills will be back this year. World-renowned BMX stunt cyclist Chris Clark will entertain Saturday's audience with a 20 minute display of him and his bike performing awe-inspiring tricks over ramps and obstacles that are built for the show.

In a press release, Clark said, ”I could not be more excited to be back at the 2016 Bradenton Area River Regatta, Last year’s shows were the busiest, best-attended and most exciting of my entire season and I expect no less this year.“

Street parties will also be happening on both Friday and Saturday on Old Main Street in Downtown Bradenton. The parties, which are part of the city's "Main Street Live" celebrations, will take place from 5 p.m. to midnight, and will feature live music from Kim Betts & Gamble Creek Band on Friday, and from Rebel Heart on Saturday.

”Main Street Live“ will open and close the Regatta with street parties on Friday and Saturday, both from 5 p.m. until midnight on Old Main Street. Live music from Kim Betts & Gamble Creek Band (Friday) and Rebel Heart (Saturday).

Also on Saturday, several artists from the Del Couch Music Foundation will perform beginning at 11 a.m., and American Idol finalist Sam Woolf will perform at 4 p.m.
