African Children's Choir to Perform in Sarasota and Bradenton

BRADENTON – For the last two Wednesdays of March, the acclaimed African Children's Choir will perform at local churches with the stated goal of raising awareness for children in Africa that have become extremely poor or orphaned.

On March 23, the choir will perform at Abundant Life Church in Sarasota at 7 p.m. On March 30, the Church at Bradenton will host the choir at 7 p.m. Both concerts are free to attend.

The ACC is made up of African youth between 7 and 10 years old. Many in the choir have experienced personal tragedy from a number of causes such as destitution, loss of parent(s), war, disease and famine. Formed in 1984, different generations of choir members have together performed thousands of concerts with traditional African dance and songs.
