AMI Privateers to Host Annual Fourth of July Parade

Posted
HOLMES BEACH – Anna Maria’s own pirate syndicate is set to take hold of the island’s streets once again for its annual Fourth of July Parade on Monday.

The nonprofit organization advises its parade is open to "all and anyone, be it business, groups, families or individuals who would like to participate in our parade to show their pride of the 'Red, White and Blue.'"

The seven-mile parade will feature a host of floats, with many of them sure to be pirate-themed. The group notes that an estimated 20,000 spectators were at last year’s parade, which had 115 entries.

The parade starts at 10 a.m., and will go from Coquina Beach to the North AMI City Pier. An after party will be held at The Ugly Grouper, located at 5704 Marina Drive in Holmes Beach. The party will include the group announcing the recipients of over $11,000 in scholarships.

Entrance to the parade is free; those wishing to donate money to support the organization or register to be in the parade can do both at www.amiprivateers.org.
