Posted
SARASOTA – Embracing Our Differences is now welcoming submitted artwork and inspiring written statements in preparation for its 13th annual event next spring.

Scheduled for March 28 through May 31, the outdoor exhibit will celebrate human diversity through the work of 39 artists and writers. A panel of artists, curators and art professionals will select works for the official theme, "enriching lives through diversity." Part of the evaluation process will be how effectively the art reads "when enlarged to the exhibit's billboard-size dimensions of 16 x 12.5 feet," according to a press release on the event.

Those interested in submitting works can give as many as they like. The deadline for submissions is January 4.

In a statement, EOD Executive Director Michael Shelton said, "We’re always thrilled by the high quality of art and statements we receive, and how powerfully they express the message of celebrating diversity."

Separate $1,000 awards will be given for ”Best-in-Show Adult“ and ”Best-in-Show Student" (both to be judged by a three person panel of art professionals) as well as one for ”People’s Choice“ (to be judged by visitors).
