TAMPA — The Skate Park of Tampa has been hosting the Tampa Pro competition annually since the year after the park's opening, and this weekend will mark the skateboarding event's 21st anniversary as well as the most recent notch in the park's new partnership with Street League Skateboarding.

For the first time, this year's Tampa Pro competition (taking place March 21-22) will be implemented into the SLS's qualification system, with its official title being the SLS North American Qualifier. It will also function as the league's opener for its 2015 SLS Nike World Tour.

In addition to further highlighting the brands for the local park and the SLS, the partnership between SPoT and the league is expected to increase opportunities for participants in the Tampa Am, an amateur skating contest currentlyl held every December at the park.

The winner of the 21st Tampa Pro will receive $75,000 and a pass to the league's Super Crown World Championship. In addition, the 2015 SLS Nike SB World Tour will open its doors to the two highest scorers in this weekend's event

The two-day event will streamed live on the league's website. Doors will open at 9 a.m. on both days, with tickets priced at $10 for Saturday and $15 for Sunday.

Nightlife events will be held after closing of competition on both days, and include a $5,000 Converse Concrete Jam contest open to all skateboarding contestants. More information on the event can be found here; more information on Skate Park of Tampa can be found here.
