SARASOTA — Art Center Sarasota will feature Cuban song, dance, cuisine, beverages and other aspects of the island's art and culture when it hosts "Noche Cubana" this Wednesday evening.
During the special event, Sarasota Cuban Ballet School students will perform, and Sarasota Herald-Tribune dance writer Carrie Seidman will be present to give a demonstration and class on salsa dancing.
In addition to the live festivities, the event will also feature photography of Cuba by Cliff Roles and others, as well as Cuban art trip organizers Dr. Pedro Schuck and Marcos Carvajal, who will give answers and advice on traveling to Cuba. In a statement, ACS Executive Director Lisa Berger said that the company was "thrilled" that Roles "will share his extraordinary photos of the country and its people with us during the event", adding, "And who wouldn’t want to participate in a salsa class with Carrie Seidman?"
The event will run from 6-9 pm. Art Center Sarasota is located at 707 North Tamiami Trail. Tickets are $25 each. Those interested in attending may want to purchase in advance (by visiting here or calling 941-365-2032), as the event is expected to sell out prior to Wednesday.
