MANATEE COUNTY — St. Patrick's Day will come early in Manatee County with two major events this Saturday. Old Main Street will host a street party beginning at 4 p.m., while Lakewood Ranch brings their 4th annual Celtic Festival to east county.
The Old Main Street Merchants will put on a special Main Street Live with Irish rock by The Dram beginning at 6 p.m. There will be food and other vendors from 4 p.m. to midnight.
The Shamrock 5K and Pub Crawl also returns to downtown Bradenton on Saturday. A timed 5K race is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.; with kid-themed Leprechaun Races at 3:30 p.m.
Afterward, there will be a post-race party with green beer and food for all registered runners.
Lakewood Ranch will host its 4th annual Irish Celtic Festival from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Greenbrook Adventure Park. The family-friendly event will feature Celtic crafts and heritage demonstrations like Irish and Scottish dancers, Irish hurling and Gaelic football.
Traditional Irish and Celtic foods along with beer from Ireland and Scotland will be available. There will also be plenty of children's activities. Braden River Pipers will be blowing the bag pipes.
Admission to both events is free.
