Billie Sue Hartman (Houser), aged 90, of Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023. She was born on July 3, 1933, in Oxford, FL. Billie Sue was a woman of strong character and deep-rooted values, who lived her life with unwavering devotion to her family and faith.

Billie Sue is survived by her cherished daughters, Allison (John) Nash and Deana (Mark) Reemelin. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever be treasured. Her memory lives on through her granddaughters, Anne Lynne (Anthony) Bushey, Tori Gossett and Virginia Nash, as well as, her great-granddaughters, Lily Dixon and Ember Dixon. Carter Reemelin and Gordon "Dunn" Reemelin, her grandsons, hold her dear in their hearts and will forever cherish her fun memories. She was preceded in death by her father, William Houser, her mother, Susan Houser, her beloved husband of 50 years, Gordon Dean Hartman, and her precious daughter, Susan Edwards.

Billie Sue received her education at Lakeland High School in Lakeland, FL, and furthered her studies at Florida Southern College. Her commitment to her education was matched only by her dedication to her faith. Billie Sue embraced spiritual nourishment at Trinity United Methodist Church, where she found guidance, and a sense of connection with her faith community.

Billie Sue found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she delighted in creating delicious meals for her loved ones. She was always Gordon's First Mate on the open waters, sailing and boating with a keen nautical sense rivaling the most seasoned yachtsmen. She spent most weekends at anchor watching the sunset and planning the next cruise. Additionally, she found immense pleasure in the companionship and camaraderie of playing bridge with dear friends. Billie Sue's compassionate spirit extended beyond her personal pursuits, as she dedicated her time and energy to volunteering at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature, formerly known as the South Florida Museum, cataloging the seashell collections. She served as an active member of the Junior Woman's Club, Entre Nous and the Service Club of Manatee County.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Billie Sue's life and legacy at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 3200 Manatee Ave W., Bradenton, FL 34205, on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1:00 PM. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the El Tigre Biotech Scholarship at State College of Florida, Trinity United Methodist Church, or Hospice - Affinity Care of Bradenton, to honor Billie Sue and continue the causes close to her heart. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the compassionate professionals at Brown and Son's Funeral Home in Bradenton, FL, who provide support and guidance during this difficult time.

A faithful servant, she stood as a pillar of strength alongside her beloved husband and was an unwavering source of encouragement to her children. Billie Sue's heart overflowed with unwavering love, and she selflessly offered her help to others without complaint. Her life was a testament to the power of gratitude and the boundless capacity for love.
