PORT ST. LUCIE - The Bradenton Marauders (53-47) blanked the St. Lucie Mets (53-46)4-0 on Wednesday night at Tradition Field. RHP Yeudy Garcia (W, 5-7) shook off five walks by limiting St. Lucie to just two hits over 6 2/3 innings.
Bradenton did all the scoring with two outs in the sixth against Alex Palsha (L, 1-1). DH Connor Joe tapped a single down the right field line to start the rally. Joe scored all the way from first on 3B Wyatt Mathisen’s double to left-center. C Taylor Gushue doubled home Mathisen. Gushue moved to third on a wild pitch while RF Michael Suchy walked. Suchy stole second base and both he and Gushue scored on 2B Pablo Reyes’ single to right field.
RHP Tanner Anderson stranded a pair of Mets by getting the final out of the seventh on his first pitch, inducing a comebacker from Jhoan Urena. Anderson pitched the eighth inning and gave way to RHP Luis Heredia, who tossed a scoreless ninth.
SS Cole Tucker went 2-for-5, posting his second straight multi-hit game and 11th overall with Bradenton.
