BRADENTON – The Bradenton Marauders (49-41) scored five runs in the first inning and took a 7-0 lead through two frames to seize a 9-4 win over the Dunedin Blue Jays (47-44) on Friday night at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The Marauders have won three in a row and will try for a four-game sweep on Saturday.
RHP JT Brubaker (W, 1-3) earned his first win by tossing seven innings for a second straight start. Dunedin only scored against Brubaker during a four-run fourth inning. He struck out five.
Bradenton continued to pound Dunedin starters, chasing Justin Shafer (L, 3-5) after two innings and seven earned runs. C Taylor Gushue tagged his college teammate for a double and three RBIs.
RHP Colten Brewer and RHP Junior Lopez each pitched a scoreless inning for the Marauders to close out the win.
