Bradenton approves day care center with stipulations

BRADENTON – The Bradenton City Council on Wednesday approved a day care center with stipulations.

 

Ellen Powell, the agent and owner, had seen an opportunity with other centers closing and originally wanted a center with just infants, but has expanded it.

 

Work on the facility has started and the council approved the center 5-0 with stipulations.

 

Consent agenda

In the consent agenda, the City Council approved the following items on a 5-0 vote:

 

  • Minutes of October 28, 2009

  • Minutes of November 9, 2009

  • Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) agreement

  • Resolution 09-80 Reappointing Jayne Kocher to the Downtown Development Authority

  • 2010 Council Meeting Schedule

  • Resolution 09-76 -- Tampa Bay Regional Support

  • Public Event -- Falcon Run Saturday, February 20, 2010

 

The council also approved 5-0 the following items:

 

  • SA.09.0017: Request of Manatee County, owner, J. Thomas O’Brien, agent, for a Special Use Amendment for demolition of existing building and construction of two story administrative building in G. T. Bray Park at 5502 33rd Avenue Drive West (zoned PDP).

  • Resolution 09-82 -- CSX 630347 Agreement, and Resolution 09-83 -- CSX 630348 Agreement

 

The Manatee County Letter prohibiting offshore oil and gas drilling passed on a 4-1 vote, with Councilman Gene Gallo dissenting, and the conceptual building rendering of Riversong at Promenade at Riverwalk passed on a 5-0 vote with stipulations.
