BRADENTON – At Wednesday's meeting, Bradenton City Council members decided to hold off another week on whether to approve a contract for the sale of a property by a city reservoir out east for WCI Construction after a lengthy debate. In other business, the council received a presentation on the planned roundabout project for the intersection of MLK Avenue East and 15th Street East. Councilman Bemis Smith was absent from the meeting.

Dave Gustafson, who is retiring from his position as Executive Director for the Bradenton Downtown Development Authority: "I want to thank you for the opportunity ... I think our city is in a a better place because of your passion, my passion ... I definitely loved to work here." Said he planned to stay active in Bradenton's downtown area, and that if the City ever needed him on any committees, he'd be happy to obliged. Mayor Wayne Poston thanked Gustafson for the work he did during his tenure. Gallo wished him the best of success in the future.
Joe McClash: Endorsed roundabout project, calling it a "big improvement" over traditional street stop signs and traffic lights. The former county commissioner and TBT publisher then presented information on a future land use map correction that the council approved in a resolution in 2013, saying the land involved, which was once designated as conservation land, was changed in violation of the city's comp plan. "The future land use map should have never changed for the entire parcel," said McClash.

filed suit against the City as it seeks to challenge the development order, which was issued to local developer Pat Neal.)
