a) FIRST READING OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE 2920 Approved unanimously, 5-0. A public hearing on the repeal of this ordinance is scheduled for July 21.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BRADENTON, FLORIDA, REPEALING THE CITY OF BRADENTON TRAFFIC LIGHT SAFETY ACT AS CODIFIED IN CHAPTER 50, SECTIONS 50-81 THROURGH 50-95 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BRADENTON, FLORIDA; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

City Councilwoman Marianne Barnebey reported on the newly remodeled Children's Corner at the Bradenton Central Library. A group of volunteers have raised $82,000 to fix up the section, which included new computers, a reading room and carpet.
11. DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: City Clerk and Treasurer Carl Callahan gave council members an update on the budget. (Read full story.)
