Bradenton Form Based Code Second Draft Available Online

Posted

BRADENTON--The second draft of Bradenton’s Form Based Codes that was presented to both the city council and public at a pair of hearings at City Hall on February 2 is now available online. Citizens have an opportunity to look over the code and provide input at another public hearing scheduled for March 16 with a presentation before the Bradenton Planning Commission.

Coral Gables based planning consultants Dover-Kohl and Partners have been working on the form based codes for Bradenton since last year having presented the first draft on November 3, 2010.

Form based codes are used to offer more predictable built results in development of the city as an alternative to conventional zoning. They codes are adopted into city or county law as regulations and are not mere guidelines.

Two readings of the second draft of form based codes will take place during City Council meetings on March 23 and April 13. A vote on adoption of the codes would take place at the April 13 meeting.
