Posted

SARASOTA--Both local minor football league teams kick off the 2011 Florida Football Alliance season on Saturday. The Bradenton Gladiators are in Palm Beach to face the Tri-County Soldiers at 7:00 p.m. while the Sarasota Millionaires host the Bay Area Warriors at Booker High School in a 3:30 p.m. kick-off.

The Millionaires will look to improve on last season’s 6-6 record under new head coach Carlos Yancy in 2011. Yancy played a couple of seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots and before that had a stellar college football career with the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Sarasota Millionaires are entering its fifth season as a minor league football team. Each year the Millionaires have made the playoffs but are still striving to bring a championship back to Sarasota. Owners Bethsaida and Calvin Williams have worked tirelessly in the off-season to upgrade the team’s talent through tryouts and combine sessions.

All Millionaires games will be broadcast online and can be accessed by clicking here.

The Bradenton Gladiators will open its home season next Saturday January 29th against the Bay Area Warriors at the PAL Bowl in Palmetto at 7:05 p.m.
