Bradenton Gladiators Host Cross-County Rival Sarasota Millionaires Tonight

Posted

MANATEE--Despite the winless record of its opponent this week, the Bradenton Gladiators have circled tonight’s game at the PAL Bowl in Palmetto against the Sarasota Millionaires as a must win. Whenever these two teams meet it becomes more than just a football game, it is a battle for bragging rights between the two county minor league football teams.

The Gladiators are riding high on a six game winning streak and remain undefeated atop the Florida Football Alliance’s AFC West Division. The Millionaires are a team still looking to find its identity. They are winless under new head coach Carlos Yancy and have not been able to put together an offense which had been one of the most potent in the league during the team’s first four years of existence.

Things won’t get any easier tonight at 7:00 p.m. when the Millionaires go up against the Gladiators who own the stingiest defense in the Florida Football Alliance. Former Bradenton players Glenn Woods, Derrick Hugine and Millard Dawson will return to their old home field at the PAL Bowl hoping to get Sarasota on track for the remainder of the season.

The Gladiators are one of three unbeaten teams in the FFA along with the Magic City (Miami) Bulls and defending league champion Orlando Rage.
