BRADENTON–The Bradenton Gladiators, a minor league football team based in Manatee County is now accepting applications for its Gladiators' Scholarship Program. The program is open to high school seniors that plan to attend an accredited community college, college or university. Scholarship amounts range from $250-$500 and can be used for tuition, books, or other college related expenses.

To be eligible for this scholarship an applicant must have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a four-point scale, participated in a high school athletics or JROTC program, have attended a high school in Manatee County and be a graduating senior in the year in which he/she is applying for the scholarship.
High school seniors can apply for this scholarship by submitting a completed application (available by clicking here) and a written essay of 500 words or less explaining why you believe you deserve the scholarship. Also two letters of recommendation and an official copy of a transcript must be submitted.

All submissions must be postmarked by April 1, 2011. The scholarship recipient(s) will be notified of their status via mail by May 1, 2011.
The Gladiators are currently undefeated in 2011 at 5-0 and sit atop the AFC West division in the Florida Football Alliance. The team plays its home games at the PAL Bowl.
