BRADENTON -- The Marauders have slipped to 4 games behind rival Palm Beach in the race for the remaining playoff spot and were unable to capitalize during yesterday’s double-hitter at Mckechnie, winning one and losing the other. In game one, Sterling Marte was 2-3 with a double, but the rest of the offense was relatively quiet in a 4-2 loss.
In game 2, the bats were even quieter, as the team only scored 1 run on 4 hits. But the pitching platoon of Matt McSwain, Diego Moreno and Noah Krol spread out 6 combined hits for a 1-0 shutout. The Marauders close out their 7-game home stand with two more against the Cards and hope to make up a bit of ground before heading back to Jupiter for a series with the Hammerheads.
