Bradenton Marauders Stomp Daytona Cubs 11-5

Posted

DAYTONA – After splitting a double hitter last night, with two close, low-scoring games, the Marauders brought out the big bats tonight and worked over the scoreboard. Austin McClune, who came into the game hitting a mere .219, made the most of his shot at being a lead-off hitter. The tall, wiry right fielder went 4 for 6 with 3 RBI’s as Bradenton pounded the Cubs .

CF Sterling Marte went 2-4 for the second night in a row and Brian Leach (5-8) finally got the run support worthy of allowing only one run over six innings of solid work. The win puts the Marauders back in first place as they head home tomorrow night to open a 4-game series with the Brevard Manatees.
