Brevard Manatees Come Back to Beat Marauders 5-4

RHP Aaron Pribanic

BRADENTON – Aaron Pribanic could easily be 10-5, had he gotten better run support in many of his best performances. The big right-hander from Nebraska continued to show great stamina, again going seven full innings last night at McKechnie en route to another no-decision.

The Marauders and Manatees were tied up 3-3 for most of the game, but in the bottom of the 6th, Andenson Chourio singled in Bones Skelton to put Bradenton up 4-3 and position Pribanic for the win. The mound was turned over to Duke Welker who gave up a homer to Brock Kieldgaard, the first batter he faced in the top of the 8th.

Welker got out of the inning and Craig Hansen came on to try and preserve the tie, but a walked batter was moved along by a ground out and a single, before crossing the plate on a wild pitch that put Brevard up 5-4. With 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth, Shelby Ford drew a walk.

Calvin Anderson had had the night off and was brought in to pinch hit for Adam Davis, but grounded out to end the game. The team is off tomorrow and then head to Palm Beach for three games against the Cards in a pivotal series as the two teams continue to battle for first place.
