Business and government: The week ahead

Some government bodies are having meetings this week.

Palmetto City Commission

The Palmetto City Commission and CRA will meet at 4:30 p.m. for a workshop and then at 7 p.m. for its regular meeting at City Hall, 516 Eighth Ave. W., Palmetto. The commission will consider the proposal for the Energy and Efficiency Block Grant. At the CRA meeting, the members will consider a CRA budget correction for the Haben Boulevard Gateway Project, extending the interim administrator's contract and the Jupiter Marine storefront grant.

Manatee County Commission

The County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. for a work session with the Planning Commission, and again at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, in Room 502 on the fifth floor. Issues to be discussed with the Planning Commission include urban infill, UF-3 future land use changes, the sign ordinance and performance bonds. Commissioners will also discuss transit park-and-ride, the Robinson Property, naming rights and red light cameras. At 1:30 p.m., the time certain item is the Judicial Center concession issue.

The commissioners will also have a land use meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday in the commission chambers. They'll be discussing a land use amendment for Bowlees Creek, an approval related to the Eagle Pointe subdivision project and a revision to the setbacks for the remaining vacant lots at Cascades of Sarasota.

Bradenton City Council

The Bradenton City Council will hold a workshop at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 101 Old Main St. in Bradenton.

In other meetings

Other governmental bodies have meetings this week:

• The Value Adjustment Board Special Magistrate will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the Fountain Conference Room at the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. There will also be a meeting at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Historic Courthouse, Clerk’s Conference Room, 1115 Manatee Ave. W., Room 124.

• The Longboat Key Town Commission will have a statutory meeting at 6:45 p.m. Monday and its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key.

• The Bradenton Tree and Land Preservation Board will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Planning Conference Room at City Hall, 101 Old Main St., Bradenton.

• The Bradenton Beach City Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 107 Gulf Drive N., Holmes Beach.

Business

The Bradenton Central Community Redevelopment Agency will be offering personal finance workshops starting this week.
