Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson told supporters in a statement on Wednesday what his campaign chair said on Super Tuesday: That his candidacy has no clear path to the GOP nomination. However, the retired neurosurgeon did not yet declare suspension of his campaign.
Instead, Carson advised he would not attend Thursday's presidential debate, and that he would give a speech on Friday in Maryland, at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
"I do not see a political path forward in light of last evening’s Super Tuesday primary results. However, this grassroots movement on behalf of 'We the People' will continue. Along with millions of patriots who have supported my campaign for President, I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations," read the statement.
