Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch to Kick Off Chanukah Season With Giant Ice Menorah

Posted
LAKEWOOD RANCH – Downtown Lakewood Ranch will see a massive ice Menorah on Monday, December 7, one day after the start of Chanukah 2015.

Hosted by Chabad of Bradenton & Lakewood Ranch, the event will feature sculptors carving the frozen Menorah on the spot with chainsaws and other tools. Ice blocks will arrive during the afternoon, and the carvers are slated to finish their work soon after sunset. The sculpture will glow on completion in what CBLWR says is to symbolize "the triumph of light over darkness."

Song and dance will also be featured at the event. Food will be offered by Falafel with Yoav and Bogey's, who will offer Kosher BBQ. Childrens' activities and free raffles are also to be part of the event, which will take place on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch.

More information about the event as well as Chanukah events around the world can be found at www.chabadofbradenton.com/ ChanukahEvents.
