Parker Law Group, a Sarasota-based Law Firm practicing Personal Injury and Estate Law, is celebrating its 10 year anniversary by making a sizeable donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County – $1 for every client since opening the doors a decade ago.
The donation is all part of the firm’s 10 Year Anniversary Celebration which will take place at the Parker Law Group office on September 19th, 2011. The family oriented event will feature delicious snacks, face painting, a bounce house, a balloon artist, snow cones, and other family-friendly activities. The firm is inviting all past clients and their families, as well as local Doctors and their staff, Officers from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, and select members of the media.
”We’ve been very proud to protect the welfare of our clients and now we hope this donation makes them equally proud of us,“ says Senior Partner Julie Parker. ”By making a donation on behalf of each one of the thousands of clients over the past 10 years, it allows us to give to a great cause in their honor – a true win-win for everyone!“ said Parker.
Julie Parker is currently on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County and is a Past President of the organization. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County is nationally renowned due to the fact that they just completed their ”Trifecta Program“ with the opening of their Daughtrey Elementary School Club, which means they now have a School Club for every level of primary education – the only start-to-finish program of its kind in the entire nation.
”I’ve been very privileged to work with this extraordinary organization at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County. They are equally compassionate and aggressive about helping the kids of the community,“ said Julie Parker. ”This is our way of helping them continue that tradition of innovative community support.“
In addition to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, Julie Parker and Parker Law Group are also actively involved in the Easter Seals of Southwest Florida, the Take Stock in Children Program in Manatee County, Miracle League of Manasota, Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch, and SPARCC (Safe Place And Rape Crisis Center of Sarasota).

Palmetto Art Center (PAC) will be adding to the festivities of historic downtown Palmetto's First Friday on Fifth, this coming Friday, September 2nd, 6 - 9PM. On exhibit, curious critics can take in vivid botanical images of local photographer Mac Carraway along with serene landscapes by Bradenton painter Cheryl Moody.
Mac Carraway is a local fine art photographer who has been photographing and printing traditional and digital pictures for over 30 years. Most of his photographs are natural-light, close-up studies and representations of Florida flowers.
Bradenton born and raised Cheryl Moody developed an appreciation for nature at an early age. "I was always encouraged to draw or paint as far back as I can remember, and the time spent in the woods or on the water has certainly affected the direction of my painting," says Cheryl.
From PAC's Open Gallery exhibits and the "machine art" of Slicks Garage's ever-popular Car Show to local vendors' fare and a free movie in Sutton Park, the community and its visitors can soak up the family-friendly atmosphere. So round up the family, bring a friend and spend a relaxing Friday evening taking it all in!
PAC is located in historic downtown Palmetto at 907 5th street West - right next door to Growers' Hardware. For detailed directions visit www.PalmettoArtCenter.com
