PARRISH – The Parrish Heritage Day and its annual chili cook-off return this Saturday in Parrish, a small village just northeast of Ellenton in Manatee County.
The parade is scheduled to step off at 10:30 a.m. behind the Parrish Fire Station, ending at the Florida Railroad Museum, where the chili cook-off will take place.
The informal parade raises money for nonprofits serving the community.
Admission to the chili cook-off is only $5 (children under 12 are admitted free) and includes a sample of each batch of chili from the 23 competing teams.
