Community Public Invited to Give Input on Warner

Posted

MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County Government is calling for Northwest Bradenton residents, boaters and outdoor enthusiasts across the county to participate in a workshop next week to collect public input for the future of Warner’s Bayou boat ramp.

Manatee County will host a public workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19th at the Palma Sola Elementary School cafeteria, 6806 5th Ave NW, Bradenton to ask Warner’s Bayou-area residents and local boaters exactly what they want to see at the launch.

The ramp was scheduled to be closed for repair and upgrades in March, but many residents near the popular launch asked to have more input in the plan before work began. Several County staffers met with concerned residents at the launch on March 21 evening to clarify the proposed improvements and to ask for their feedback for the launch.

Most people at that meeting favored only the proposed boat ramp improvements and were not in favor of other proposed land-side improvements such as paved parking and storm water runoff areas, pavilions and new restrooms.
