Community Section of Riverview Boulevard to be closed for Summer Bridge Replacement

MANATEE COUNTY – A 1/3 mile stretch of Riverview Boulevard between 34th Street NW and 40th Street Court NW will be closed for up to eight months beginning May 1 while an aging bridge over McLewis Bayou is replaced.

Traffic will be routed to Manatee Avenue during the closure. 

The project to replace the outdated bridge was awarded to Naples, Florida-based Quality Enterprises USA, Inc. The total project cost is $1,494,424 and it will be paid through gas tax revenues and previously issued transportation bonds. 

County officials will meet with emergency responders later this month to discuss emergency access into and out of the area.
