Community Spotlight: Coastal Orthopedics Doctors and Staff Collected 11 Pounds of Trash During Coastal Cleanup

BRADENTON – Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine and Pain Management, a comprehensive and full-service orthopedic, sports medicine and pain management practice, recently collected approximately 10 pounds of garage and one pound of recycles during a coastal cleanup the organization hosted along the Riverwalk in Bradenton.

The event, which took place on Saturday, Aug. 22, featured a 30-minute walk and cleanup, which was attended by 183 people, including Coastal Orthopedic employees and physicians as well friends and family members.

”This is just the start of a great quarterly initiative,“ says Joyce Miller-Porter, a human resources assistant at Coastal Orthopedic. ”We are really looking forward to coming together as a team and keeping our community a beautiful place to work, live and visit.“

After the cleanup, a food truck served breakfast to participants and a wide range of family festival activities, such as corn hole, a pony hop, fishing, face painting, a balloon artist, photo booth and splash park, were available. A dunk tank was also be set up where managers and physicians were soaked by staff.
