BRADENTON — UPCC 9-HOLE LPGA members, a dedicated group of fewer than 60 golfers, is giving back to the community with a generous donation of over $11,000 to HOPE Family Services to ensure their vision of a safe place for children in the shelter is a reality.
This is the fourth year the members chose to focus on the shelter children and their need for a safe place to express themselves. Event co-chairs Sharon Halverson and Muriel Gross said, “We are so proud of our members who never wavered with sharing our beliefs and our President JoAnn Snedeker who supported our vision of helping HOPE’s children.”
“We are so grateful for this grant” said Laurel Lynch, HOPE’s CEO. “Not only will it directly help the children who come to us in what must be one of their most desperate hours, but it gives us hope and strength to continue this vital work knowing that children will have a safe place to play. Domestic violence is not going away and deserves very serious attention. Programs to help battered women and their children require a great deal of resources, which is why we are so appreciative of UPCC 9 Hole LGA and their commitment to helping children in Manatee County.”
