Community Spotlight: Humane Society of Manatee County to Host

Posted
BRADENTON – The Humane Society of Manatee County, a nonprofit with a mission to lead the community in fostering compassion and respect for animals through care, education and collaboration, will host a Putting for Pets golf tournament on November 6 at the University Park Country Club.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and an awards dinner will held at 5:30 p.m. in the dining room. Putting for Pets is the first golf tournament the Humane Society of Manatee County has hosted. The tournament is a four-person scramble at the 27-hole Ron Garl-designed golf course at the scenic University Park Country Club, which has been voted the ”Best Place to Play Golf“ by Sarasota Magazine for 22 years.

Golfers will be greeted at registration by animals available for adoption. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter exciting raffle contests and participate in the closest to the pin and longest drive contests. At 11:30 a.m., the award-winning Park Grille and CafŽ will open for lunch. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Humane Society of Manatee County and the animals in the organization’s care.

The Putting for Pets presenting sponsor is Conley Subaru. Beverage sponsors are Gold Coast Eagle Distributing and J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp., which recently completed a high-quality renovation of the Humane Society of Manatee County’s 10,000-square-foot spay and neuter clinic in Bradenton.

Registration as a foursome for the tournament ($500) includes the greens fee, golf cart, gift bag, dinner and a hole sponsorship. Individual players can register for $100.
