Morton F. Pitt was born on December 6, 1920 in Olean,NY to the late Milo and Mona (Norris )Pitt. He was embraced by his LORD, Jesus Christ, on Saturday May 16, 2015 at Surrey Place in Bradenton, Florida at the age of 94.

Morton Pitt was a WW II Veteran of the US Army Air Force and served as an Airplane Armorer 911 in the Air Offensive over Europe. Mort served as a New York State Parks Police Officer for  25  years retiring to Florida in 1983. He was happily married for 52 years to Laura (Stevens ) Pitt dec’d and to Ida Virginia Pitt for the past 14 years.

Mort was a faithful Christian servant at both Niagara Community Church in Niagara Falls and Bethel Baptist Church in Bradenton. He was a faithful volunteer at Missionary Village.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, his sons, Thomas and wife, Rosemarie Pitt, Terry and wife, Elaine Pitt, daughters, Susan and husband, Barry Bathurst, and Linda and husband, Theodore Kuschel, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura (Stevens), sister, Sharley Shafer and brother, Marion Pitt.

Visitation 6-8PM Wednesday, May 20, 2015 with the Services at 10:00AM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. Interment with Military Honors will be 2:00PM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.

Edward "Eddie" Huffman, 71, of Rex, GA, and formerly of Sarasota, FL died May 13, 2015. Eddie Was an and original member of the musical group The Soul Stirrers.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 23 at Koinonia MB Church, 409 N Lime Ave, Sarasota.

Cheryl L. ''Wiersema'' Werner, 50, Bradenton, died May 9, 2015.

Born in Chicago, IL she moved to Bradenton in 1984 from Crestwood, IL and attended Bethel Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for the Extension office in Palmetto and Bethel Baptist Church.

Survived by husband, Robert ''Bob'' Werner of Bradenton, FL; son, Joel R. Werner of Bradenton, FL; mother, Alice Wiersema-Elder of Bradenton, FL; brother, Curtis Wiersema of Bradenton, FL; sister, Debbie Fahey of Bradenton, FL.

Visitation 3-4PM Sunday May 24, 2015 with Services following at 4PM at Bethel Baptist Church, 1805 30th Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
