Community Wind Mitigation Workshop Gives Tips to Harden Homes Against Storm Damage

MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County Building and Development Services Department will host a homeowners wind mitigation workshop next week to educate homeowners on how they can harden their homes against potential wind damage.

The workshop will be held Monday, April 16 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Manatee County Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton. Representatives from Florida’s Foundation and the Florida Division of Emergency Management will be on hand to offer tips on improving the roof, windows and doors of a home.

County building officials will be on hand to answer questions people may have on how to obtain local permits.
